Device Detection

Sitecore Device Detection is a subscription-based service that customers can sign up to through the Sitecore App Center. The service enables device identification through the device user agent string and mobile web browser properties (such as device model, OS and screen size). Information from identified devices can be used to customize the device layout for specific mobile devices, and to personalize content for mobile-oriented marketing activities.

IP Geolocation Detection

The Sitecore IP Geolocation service uses website visitors’ unique IP addresses to automatically populate the Sitecore xDB with location details, for example, country, region, and city, when they visit a Sitecore-powered website. This information helps you personalize customers’ experiences and optimize your campaigns through segmentation, personalization, and content profiling.

    • Language fallback is not enabled by default for sites and fields.

  • Language fallback for dictionary items:

    • Enables item-level fallback on a dictionary entry template’s standard values. When this feature is enabled, all dictionary items for a given site can use language fallback..
